Dani Herja, LPC

Dani earned their dual Master’s Degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy Counseling from Emporia State University, after completing their Bachelors in Psychology and Studio Art from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.

They have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who experience gender and sexual identity issues, ADHD, ASD, trauma, anxiety, and depression.  Dani’s work has also led them to advocating for LGBTQIA+ issues by providing trainings to community agencies, schools, and businesses.

Dani has training in several modalities including art therapy, play therapy techniques, behavioral modification, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

While utilizing a variety of skills and techniques, Dani will always use a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens to emphasize support, resilience, and client empowerment.
