Those Who Help You Tell Your Story
Mel Merlotti, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I hold an MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Graduate Certificate in Social Justice in Education. My approach is person- centered with the belief that clients want to have positive change in their lives and have the agency to make those changes. I pull from several different evidence-based practices to help tailor the session to the client’s needs, including making use of my training in Level 1 Internal Family Systems. I also focus on the mind-body connection and mindfulness techniques with clients. Finally, I am proudly sex positive in my approach to therapy, especially dealing with relationships and identity.
I specialize in working with adults 18 and older in individual therapy. I enjoy working with diverse populations and are accustomed to providing culturally sensitive services for people from a variety of backgrounds with a wide array of concerns: LGBTQIA+ populations, adults working through childhood trauma, sex positive approach to kink and/or polyamory, relationships, life transitions, addiction, anxiety, and depression.
